Preface
The COVID-19 pandemic swept through the whole world at the end of 2019. In the following year, the government took lockdown measures. Citizens had to limit outings to minimize disease transmission. It was during this quiet and peaceful stay-at-home period that past events of a lifetime, piece-by-piece, came to mind. Thus, I considered writing down my eighty years of experiencing God and His countless grace – His grace is the crown of my age and the nourishment of my life path. At that time, I had close contact with my ex-colleague Marina who reminisced over past events with me and encouraged me to write an autobiography. She also offered to help translate it into English. At the end of 2019, my daughter Joanne and her family came back to Sydney for a holiday as well as to report on their missionary work. Because of border closures due to the pandemic, they were unable to return to Malawi as planned. As a result, they were able to stay back for my 80th birthday celebration. Joanne gave me a set of eight drawings for my birthday present, each depicting a journey I’d shared with the Lord. I have a habit of writing journals, mostly for the purpose of documenting my experience of God in the important life events. As I looked at the drawings, the idea of “An Illustrated Testimony” started to take root. After my birth- day, I started to collect information. My journals, letters to God, photos all proved to be useful. My testimony “Path” began to germinate and started to grow. Praise My Lord. The greatest blessing in my life is believing in and accepting Jesus Christ, becoming God’s child and living in God’s presence each day. O, Lord! How can I not love You, worship You and praise You? Being with You is a blessing. I need to tell of Your works and let them bear testimony to Your grace. “Since my youth, God, You have taught me, and to this day I declare Your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare Your power to the next generation, Your mighty acts to all who are to come.” (Psalms 71:17-18 NIV)Content
